Established in 1955, the Australian Nitrogen Fixation Conference (ANFC) is Australia's premier forum for fundamental and applied research in legume nitrogen fixation, legume-rhizobia symbioses, inoculant technologies, soil ecology, biochemistry, agronomy, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, engineering technologies and data-driven approaches. The 20th ANFC will be held at AgriBio, La Trobe University, Melbourne, from 10th–12th November 2026, bringing together researchers and industry to share the latest advances in nitrogen fixation in pulse and pasture legumes. The program will feature a strong focus on translating research into improved productivity, profitability and sustainability for Australian grain and pasture systems.
